The below guidance provides FAQs on how to file a report of discrimination, harassment or retaliation.
Any student, faculty, or staff member who has experienced discrimination, harassment or retaliation, may file a complaint with the Office of Equity and Compliance.
The complaint may be made in written or verbal format. The easiest method is via our reporting form located HERE. A report should include the following details, when possible:
Name, email, phone number, and division/department of person filing the complaint (or student status)
Name, email, phone number, and division/department or status of the person against whom the complaint is being filed (if applicable)
Date incident occurred
Location of incident
Description of incident
All complaints of discrimination or harassment filed in the Office of Equity and Compliance should be filed as soon after the alleged offending conduct as possible. However, the Office will accept a complaint regardless of the timeframe. The amount of time that has passed can sometimes affect the Office’s ability to address or remediate an incident.
Any member of the community filing a report, may use our reporting form. Or the complaint can be filed by sending the necessary information (please refer to “What Should a Complaint Include”) via email to stellato_sl@mercer.edu.
Reports made to the Office of Equity and Compliance will remain confidential. Continued confidentiality will be determined based on if and when an Impacted Party chooses how to proceed with their rights and options.
